About us
Quiet, consistent care — for as long as a child needs it.
Children of Deccan Foundation runs a licensed children's home in Hyderabad for boys from disadvantaged backgrounds. We provide shelter, nutrition, healthcare, and private schooling under one roof, governed by Indian child-welfare law and the values of a family.

Our mission
To stand in the gap — and stay there.
Across Telangana, thousands of boys lose the safety of a stable home every year — to bereavement, poverty, illness, or family breakdown. For most, what comes next is unstable: relatives stretched thin, government shelters at capacity, or, too often, no school at all.
We exist for those boys. Children of Deccan Foundation is a licensed, registered children's home that provides shelter, family-style care, and a fully-funded private education for as long as a child is in our charge — typically until they finish school and are ready to begin work or further study.
Since 2018, we have worked towards the care, protection, education, and rehabilitation of vulnerable children under the framework of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. We currently operate a Boys Home supporting 25+ children aged 7 to 18, from orphaned, semi-orphaned, economically disadvantaged, and vulnerable backgrounds across Telangana.
Our work is intentionally small in scale and high in quality. We would rather raise twenty-five boys well than two hundred poorly.
What we believe
Five values that shape every decision we make.
Children first.
Every operational choice — staffing, schooling, building, budget — is tested against one question: is this what's best for the boys in our care?
Care, not charity.
Our boys are not recipients of pity. They are children with names, ambitions, and futures. We treat them accordingly.
A real education.
Private English-medium schooling is not a luxury — it is the single most reliable path out of intergenerational poverty in urban India.
Transparent stewardship.
We account carefully for every rupee we are entrusted with, and we share our numbers openly with donors and regulators.
Long-term commitment.
We do not cycle children in and out. Once a boy is in our care, he stays until he is ready — and we stay in his life after that.
Lawful and licensed.
We operate within India's child-protection framework, hold the required licences, and welcome inspection from the authorities who govern our work.

Who runs the home
Local leadership, lifelong commitment.
Day-to-day life at the home is led by experienced Indian caregivers with more than a decade of work in childcare and community service. They are supported by a small team of housemothers, cooks, tutors, and visiting medical professionals.
The Foundation is governed by a board with experience in education, social work, finance, and technology. Operations are reviewed regularly against Indian regulatory requirements and our own internal child-protection policies.
Stand with our boys
A safe home and a real education change everything.
Every contribution covers food, schooling, healthcare, and the everyday care that lets a child simply be a child. Help us keep our doors open.
